AFCAT 02/2026 Selection Process Stages

• The Indian Air Force (IAF) conducts the AFCAT 02/2026 selection process in multiple stages. Candidates must successfully qualify each stage to be considered for final selection.

  • Stage 1: Online Written Examination – Candidates are required to appear for the AFCAT Computer-Based Test (CBT), which evaluates their aptitude, reasoning ability, English, general awareness, and military aptitude. Candidates applying for the Flying Branch must also qualify the Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT), wherever applicable.
  • Stage 2: Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) Interview – Candidates shortlisted in the written examination are called for the AFSB Interview, which includes psychological tests, group activities, officer intelligence rating tests, and personal interviews to assess leadership qualities and suitability for commissioning in the Indian Air Force.
  • Stage 3: Document Verification – Candidates who clear the AFSB process must produce their original educational certificates, identity proof, category certificates (if applicable), and other required documents for verification.
  • Stage 4: Medical Examination – Finally, candidates undergo a comprehensive medical examination conducted by the Indian Air Force to ensure they meet the prescribed physical and medical fitness standards. Only medically fit candidates are considered for the final merit list and commissioning.

• Candidates can check their AFCAT 02/2026 Exam City Details by following these simple steps:

  1. Visit the official AFCAT website at afcat.edcil.co.in and open the Candidate Login page.
  2. Click on the AFCAT 02/2026 Candidate Login link.
  3. Enter your Email ID, Password, and Captcha Code, then click Sign In.
  4. After logging in, your allotted exam city, exam date, and shift timing will be displayed on the screen.
  5. Verify all the details carefully and make the necessary travel and accommodation arrangements well before the examination date.
  6. Download or save the Exam City Intimation Slip for future reference. Remember that the Exam City Slip is not the Admit Card; the admit card will be released separately before the examination.
