Physical Efficiency Test (PET) for Track Maintainer Post

* PET is qualifying in nature. Failing the weight-carrying stage leads to immediate elimination prior to the running test.

KRCL Recruitment Selection Process 2026

• The Konkan Railway Recruitment 2026 selection process consists of the following stages, depending on the post applied for:

  • Stage 1: Computer Based Test (CBT) – All eligible candidates must appear for the Computer Based Test (CBT), which evaluates their technical knowledge, general awareness, reasoning ability, mathematics, and other subjects relevant to the post.
  • Stage 2: Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) / OMR Aptitude Test – Candidates applying for the posts of Station Master, Section Controller, and Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) will be required to qualify the Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) or OMR-based Aptitude Test, as prescribed by KRCL.
  • Stage 3: Document Verification (DV) – Candidates who qualify the required examination stages will be called for Document Verification, where their educational qualifications, identity proof, category certificates, domicile certificates (if applicable), and other required documents will be verified.
  • Stage 4: Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – Applicants for the Track Maintainer post must successfully clear the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) as per the standards specified in the official notification.
  • Stage 5: Medical Examination – Candidates shortlisted after all previous stages must undergo a Medical Examination to ensure they meet the medical fitness standards prescribed by Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL).

  Final Selection: The final merit list will be prepared based on the candidate’s performance in the applicable selection stages, successful document verification, and medical fitness, in accordance with KRCL Recruitment Rules 2026.
